Cherrygarth (/cherrygarth/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Small Town located in Bàgu̹ Kûmodi Kingdom, Yutate County, within the Kingdom of Helsteria.

The name Cherrygarth is derived from the Sylvin language, as Cherrygarth was founded by Kenyon Englefield Torney, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Cherrygarth has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Cherrygarth receives an average of 140 cm/y (55 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Cherrygarth covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 3238 m (10623 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Cherrygarth was founded durring the early 17th century in late summer of the year 1610, by Kenyon Englefield Torney. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Cherrygarth was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Cherrygarth is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Cherrygarth is buildings are located arround a single premissive gravel mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Cherrygarth's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

The town shows nothing out of the ordinary, at first glance. Then you start to notice all the small things. Each window has seven iron nails pounded into the sill. Every door has a sprig of holly overhead. Every well is branded with purity seals and runes to ward the contents. Everyone is carrying a small charm for safety or fortune, be it a rabbit’s foot, a horseshoe, or other little totems.

Cherrygarth has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Cherrygarth's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Cherrygarth has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Cherrygarth has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Cherrygarth's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
